This is my first SDN blog posting. This blog will primarily discuss enterprise performance management and two of the SAP BusinessObjects products that I am working with: SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management, SAP BusinessObjects Spend Performance Management, and the integration between other SAP BusinessObjects Portfolio products and these two products.
Here's a bit about my relevant background: I have been working in the business intelligence and enterprise performance management areas for over 11 years, as a technical consultant and technical writer. Starting in 1998, I was Principal Consultant at Alphablox, a startup focused on delivering a platform for building and serving custom analytic applications. Using the Alphablox Analytics Server platform, Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, I built custom analytic applications and provided training for large enterprises, including Deutsche Bank, IBM, Xerox, Southwestern Bell (SBC), and Hewlett-Packard. While at Alphablox, I used my consulting experience to write the first developer's guide for the product. IBM acquired Alphablox in 2004, and I worked there until lured to SAP by a former Alphabloxer (Sanjay Poonen). Before getting involved in the BI/EPM areas, I worked as an independent Internet/Web consultant, a webmaster, and co-started an ISP. I also co-authored a book, titled The Internet Unleashed, published in 1994.
In 2010, I look forward to sharing my thoughts and insights about performance management and the SAP BusinessObjects products I work with.
