If you are one of the numerous SAP BW Customers running SAP BPC (BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation) in BW, the migration to BW 7.4 and above or BW/4HANA requires careful analysis of the compatibility of the BPC versions with the different versions of BW and BW/4HANA. The effort required to migrate BPC 10.0 to BPC 10.1 or BPC 11.0 Classic model is well documented and requires a back-up and restore as shown in the graphic below.
The Backup and restore is usually carried out by BASIS team using Transaction code UJBR:

Latest release of SAP BPC (11.0) is based on the architecture of the SAP BW/4HANA solution and is not available for SAP S/4HANA. We will discuss the BPC version for S/4HANA in my next blog.
