Welcome to our year-end edition of the What’s New series! We’re excited to share the latest enhancements in SAP Profitability and Performance Management Cloud Standard Model (SAP PaPM Cloud - SM).

Modeling Screen

New Modeling Design and Features

Remember the modeling function update introduced in SAP PaPM Cloud Standard Model: Modeling Update (Join)?

We’ve taken it further!

Now, most of the functions benefit from this enhancement, reducing steps when modeling a function. Instead of expanding a node, simply click the function’s properties.

Important:

  • This feature isn’t activated by default. You’ll see a banner in the modeling screen about its availability.
  • If activated, all building blocks (except Rules) can be accessed and configured directly in the function’s properties panel. For more details, check Function Building Blocks in SAP Help Portal.
  • Ask your SAP PaPM Cloud - SM administrator to activate it via: Menu > Administration > Settings > Optional Feature Settings. For more details, check Optional Features Settings in SAP Help Portal.

Part of the enhancements are: 

  • Selective Copying & Pasting of Fields 

Copy only the fields you need from the Signature section. Select/unselect fields before hitting Copy Nodes button.

Tip: If you don’t select any fields, all fields will be copied.

  • Field Sequencing 

Rearrange fields easily! Drag and drop between Granularity, Action, and Selection fields for better structure.

Content Management

Better Environment Import and Upload Handling

When importing content with overwrite or running Data Management screen upload previews, you can now run only one task at a time:

  • If an environment import (overwrite) is in progress, upload in Data Management screen is blocked.

  • If Data Management screen upload preview lock is active (15-minute idle timeout), environment import won’t start.

Process Management

Enhanced Notifications for Teams

Stay informed with in-app and email notifications for admins and end-users in Performer or Reviewer teams.

  • Process State Change

Get notified when a process changes from “Open” to “Deployed”.

  • Comment Change

Get notified when comments are added, edited, or deleted in your assigned activities.

Joule

Enhanced Joule Experience

Managing Joule conversations just got smarter!

Users can now rename or delete any Joule conversation through a new context menu available in both the history sidebar and the active chat header.

Here’s what you can do with the new Joule enhancements:

  • Rename Conversations
    Renaming is simple: select Rename and the conversation title becomes an inline editable field with a 100-character limit. Press Enter or click outside the field to save changes or press Escape to cancel. If something goes wrong, you’ll see a toast notification.

  • Delete Conversations
    Deleting a conversation is just as easy, but with safeguards. When you choose Delete, a confirmation dialog appears to help prevent accidental removal.

  • Instant Availability
    Joule is now available as soon as you open a report. The system automatically saves it in the background, so you can start using Joule without any extra steps.

Application Monitor

New Run Type

Transparency matters!

Previously, all data uploads were logged under the same DATA_IMPRT run type, making it difficult to distinguish whether new data was appended or existing data was overwritten.

To improve clarity, we’ve introduced a new run type: DATA_OVRWRT. 🎉

Whenever you overwrite all or filtered records in the Data Management screen, the system automatically creates a DATA_OVRWRT run in Application Monitor, complete with detailed message logs and overwrite action information.

This enhancement improves traceability and supports precise auditing of data changes.

System Applications

Quick Refresh for Faster Updates

The Refresh action is now available across System applications:

  • Application Monitor
  • Process Monitor
  • Comment Monitor
  • History Monitor
  • Process Scheduler

This feature allows users to refresh data without reloading the entire application, preserving layout adjustments, and improving efficiency.
