For all SAP Profitability and Performance Management Cloud – Standard Model (SAP PaPM Cloud SM) modelers, get ready to experience environment modeling like never before! We're incredibly excited to unveil our latest upgrade, packed with innovative features designed to provide better user experience and satisfaction!
In this blogpost allow me to guide you through the latest upgrade in Modeling screen starting with the Join function. The goal is not only to provide a more user-friendly interface but also to enable a faster navigation through function configuration.
Ready to supercharge your modeling experience? Let’s get started!
As the title suggests, this Modeling screen upgrade will start in Join function. As you already know, in our Join function we have different nodes such as: Input, Signature, Join Rules, and Checks. Now, the nodes such as Input, Signature, and Checks will be in Properties panel, leaving only the Join Rules node in the Join function itself.
Let’s go through the highlight of the new functionalities that a modeler can maximize in these upgrades.
Just like before, Input Function and Input (for field) still works with dropdown functionality and the Complex Selections option in Input still works with Edit Calculation button if a complex selection needs to be maintained.
The cool added functionality now is, when a specific field needs to have a Formula or a Value Selection, you can use the Edit (Edit Selection & Mapping) button which will give you the ability to maintain the needed formula and selection just like in the old days 😉
You might also have noticed already these two buttons next to the Input?
Yes! This is one of the features that we added in this enhancement. These are the new Copy and Paste buttons which will allow the users to copy a created field inside the modeling and paste it into this specific section. How cool is that? These Copy and Paste buttons are also located and can be maximized in Signature and Checks.
And do not worry, the dropdown functionality is still in place if the user wants to manually choose fields to be maintained in either Granularity, Selection, or Actions Fields. How cool is that!
Finally, in Checks, not only is it now easier to copy and paste the checks in the Properties panel, but modelers can also maximize the use of the new Checks dropdown option!
Checks are now grouped, so modelers will have an easy way to identify which check to select before running the function instead of expanding the checks node. Now that’s convenient!
Except for these user interface updates to the Input, Signature, and Checks nodes, everything else will stay the same, including the configuration of the Join Rules, Since all our previous setups will continue to function, modelers don't need to take any additional action.
I hope this blogpost provides you with helpful information about this first modeling screen upgrade. Soon, this upgrade will also be applied to all functions so that modelers will have a faster and easier modeling experience!
