Hello SAP community members!

This article is intended as a newsletter for all our SAP Profitability and Performance Management Cloud Standard Model (SAP PaPM Cloud SM) users, providing you with the three important information you need to know on the most recent change to email notification services.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

1. What are the updates in email notifications?

  • Email sender – instead of PAPM@sap.com the sender will now be papm@notifications.sap.com
  • Email contents – an update to the email content which will provide a clearer and more user-readable text.

See examples below:

Subscribing or unsubscribing from email notifications:

2. What does this update mean to our SAP PaPM Cloud SM solution?

To align with SAP's email handling capabilities, we are now transitioning from the using the current SAP SMTP service to a new solution, ANS (Alert Notification Service).

This change will automatically be applied in your SAP PaPM Cloud SM solution; however, it is important to take note that there are certain regions which will not be supported with this transition due to the absence of a built-in Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) service.

See Notification Settings help portal for the list of regions.

BUT DO NOT WORRY!

💡 Important: If your tenant is residing in these regions and would need to have an email notification service enabled, simply proceed to number 3.

3. How will I enable email notifications in my tenant if my region is not supported with this update?

For SAP PaPM Cloud SM tenants that are residing in regions that are not supported with this update, you may enable your email notifications by following the steps below:

Did you know that you can still use your own email notification service instead of the default one provided by SAP PaPM Cloud SM? You can configure your own email notification service, which will take priority over the built-in service.

After enabling the email destination in BTP and in Standard Model application, the email sender will remain as, PAPM@sap.com but the email content will be the same. That easy!

I hope this blogpost provided you with enough information that you need to know about the latest email notification changes in SAP PaPM Cloud Standard Model.

Thank you for reading!
