SAP CPQ Migration Guide to Quote 2.0 Engine

This blog serves you to get instructions and tips to convert your Quote 1.0 engine to Quote 2.0 engine quickly and efficiently using the Quote Migration tool.

Quote Migration Tool

Quote Migration Tool is self-service feature that is used for migration of Quote transactional data from Quote 1.0 engine to Quote 2.0 engine.

There are two migration processes that are executed with Quote Migration Tool:

1. Migrating Customers from Quote 1.0 to Business Partners in Quote 2.0.

2. Migrating quotes from Quote 1.0 to the Quote 2.0 environment.

Pre-requisities

  • Customer should request a Production Database copy to Lower Environment to start Quote Migration - Component - CEC-SAL-CPQ
  • Customer should request to activate Quote 2.0 engine after the database copy 
  • Customer should request to enable Quote Migration Tool feature first in lower environment
    Refereable : Development or Test Environment
  • Customer should raise a SAP CPQ Support Ticket to enable Quote Migration Tool - Component - CEC-SAL-CPQ-Q2M
  • Customer to request for enabling Country/Region ISO code with 3 character  - This is under Feature Flag
  • Country ISO Code should match between 2 engines.  Example - Spain and Netherlands is different in both engines but this needs to be corrected in Quote 2.0 engine before running Migration.

Note : Known observation - There will be slowness during the Job running on Quote Migration Tool if there is no filter is selected for the Job.

Instructions for Quote Migration Tool 

Mapping of Fields

Ensure you map the right fields each by each as per the dropdown fields. Once migrated, you cannot re-run to correct the records.

Migrate ( 2 objects )

1. Migrating Customers from Quote 1.0 to Business Partners in Quote 2.0.

Turn off the toggle 'Migrate customers to Involved Parties' as shown in the screenshot (without any filter)2025-06-04_23-01-44.png

2. Migrating quotes from Quote 1.0 to the Quote 2.0 environment.

Turn on the toggle 'Migrate customers to Involved Parties' to migrate quotes with assigned Involved Parties. Use the filter option to run the job based on Status, Dates, or any other valid field, allowing for a quick validation with a few sample quotes.2025-06-04_23-28-18.png

Jobs

You can find the status of the job and track the progress of records that have run successfully. The difference represents the errors, which you can download to review in detail2025-06-04_22-40-50.png

Migrated Job (Actions)

you have options to Rollback the Job, View Filters of the current Job you have selected and Restart the Job if needed2025-06-04_23-15-55.png

Export to Excel 

You can download the job in Excel format to validate the number of quotes that were successfully migrated or encountered errors. The status will also display error records along with messages to help fix any issues.2025-06-04_23-16-10.png
