Work Items in Customer Projects and Line Items in General Ledger

Hi experts, 

We are using Work Items within Work Packages in Customer Projects to segregate the team's work across different work packages. 

We would like to see this information reflected in the General Ledger. In the app "Display Line Items in General Ledger", there is a column option for Work Item ID, but this information does not appear in the GL line items. 

Could you please clarify if the Work Item ID from Customer Projects should be reflected in the GL? Or is this field related to another functionality?

If it should be populated from Customer Projects, could you please guide me on how to configure the system so that this information appears in the GL line items?
