Work item 000000000000 cannot be read after EhP5 upgrade

Dear all,

Understand that there are many other discussion about the msg "Work item 000000000000 cannot be read" but none of them relate to EhP5 upgrade so I create a new one here.

My problem is after I upgrade ECC to EhP5 and try to approve or reject leave.

(Our EP is still on 7.00 SP25 and ESS on Java WD 600 SP19 with some customization, OSS replied that they will still support this ESS version)

The message "Work item 000000000000 cannot be read" show and unable to approve or reject the leave, and if we press the buttion again the message "Approve/reject most current version of leave request" show

so you are not activated EHP5 switches, so you can use this then.

Anyhow for above error, you get for all approvals?

1665826 please apply this note and also it can be due to

the problem could be caused by a missing Customizing Activity.

Please go to transaction SWU3.

As you can see, the most important activity (Configure RFC Destination)

is not performed (Or not performed correctly).

If in customizing the Activity is not set as performed,

errors such the one you are facing could occur.

Please go to SWU3 and perform again the the activity Configure RFC

Destination. The activity has to be set as Checked (Green flag)

Hi Siddharth,

Thanks for the prompt reply, checked SWU3 and find that the "Configure RFC Destination" step have problem, after we complete that and "Maintain Prefix Numbers", we start the apply and reject test all over again, and it can be completed now thanks a lot.

Some schedule jobs step still have problem, but I think they should be able to resolve by our basis admin.

I would like to ask some 2 more questions.

1) At the "Check Entries from HR Control Tables" step, I have error in PDST and PDWS, I can use report RHSOBJCH to fix it, but:

- What's really is that missing entry do?

- And am I doing the right things to use RHSOBJCH to fix them?

- It seem that it is new entry needed after upgrade, did I need to run RHSOBJCH for each environment separately?

2) For notes 1665826, it seem not related to our problem, you suggest apply that because you know we will hit that if we test further?

Yes you need to run the report RHSOBJCH to fix teh error you mention

read note 138411 and also check report RHSOBJCH as mentioned in note 60801.

please note that PDST is for PD standard objects

and PDWS is for Workflow templates,

1665826 no need to apply as of now
