Hello,
I'm trying to create a PM maintenance order in a S/4HANA Service 2022 On-Premise SP01 system using the data that came with the scope items activation for company code 1710.
I am now running a demo in this sytem following the steps provided in the guide as described in the blog: https://blogs.sap.com/2019/04/23/sap-s4hana-fully-activated-appliance-demo-guides/
I have entered equipment number and the system automatically determined sold-to party for the service order.
After informing the service product item and clicking on "Release All Items" using "Create Service Order" app, PM maintenance word is not getting created and below error messages are displayed:
"Item 10: Can't determine main work center from business partner 2000012 (Service Employee Group)."
" Item 10: Maint. order creation/update has failed. Correct errors and choose Save."
"Item 10: Planning plant can't be determined."
Any idea on how the system should trigger Main work center for this scenario? Shouldn't it be picked from equipment master record?

Error messages:

Business Partner 2000012 is the service employee group that was auto-determined in my service order:

Hello Eliel,
this is Silvia Ventura from SAP Support. Some weeks ago, we received the same question from another customer. So I'm thinking about the possibility to enhance the documentation with some KBA.
You expected that workcenter would be copied from the reference object, didn't you?
According with the documentation, the work center is derived from the service group
"You can assign a service team that is responsible for the execution of the maintenance service order. For every service team, a main work center can be assigned as part of the organization attributes. This work center is used in the maintenance service order and in the maintenance order"
If you define Service Organization as mandatory, system will not allow to update the workcenter because it will be automatically derived from the service organization
"Service organization is mandatory:
Service organization setup along with is required as a prerequisite. Additionally, planning plant and work center mapping in service organization and service team respectively is required"
If you need to update manually the work center, you should set the Service Organization as Optional. I changed the settings of the Organizational Profile, e.g. 000000000008 SERVICE.
How would you like to update the workcenter ? Manually or automatically?
Best regards
Silvia

Hello Silvia,
Thanks a lot for your reply and help.
Yes, I was wondering if work center could be copied from technical object master (IE03) after entering the equipment number in my service order.
For now I'm fine entering work center manually in my service order.
I followed the above procedure mentioned by you and set service organization checkbox as not mandatory for the organizational profile 000000000008 . After that, workcenter and planning plants fields were enabled.
After informing workcenter and the service organization, I noticed that planning plant and plant fields were automatically determined:

PM/CS maintenance order got automatically created:

In my system, Enterprise Organizational Model is disabled. Do you think this should still work if we decide to enable the organizational enterprise model?
Best Regards
Hi Silvia,
I am trying to build the same process and was struck with the same issue. Kindly help. S4 Hana 2022.
Issue:
1. Can't determine main work center from business partner 9980000001 (Service Employee Group).
Message Type__________ E (Error)Message Class_________ CRMS4_SRV_MAINTMessage Number________ 047Steps executed:
1. In CR01 - Created the work center under Plant 1710 as Assembly.
2. Assign the HR assignment to the Employee as a person

In Service order: Maintained Service Employee Group under Item lever Partner.

Still Work Center Not determined. Do I have to do something else?
The planning Plant was also not determined.
Thanks
Eswar
Hi Eliel
I've not seen any restriction in the documentation. It should work in the same.
Best regards

Hello Neeraj,
Thanks a lot for your prompty reply.
The above mentioned plant x plant assignment under enterprise structure setting is already done. This is not a traditional PM/CS scenario as I am using the new S/4HANA Service tool, where a PM order creation should get triggered from S/4 Maintenance Service Order. It is a pretty new functionality that got released with 2022 release.
Still browsing a solution for this situation...
Best Regards
