WIP in cross period for event-based order

We have cross period scenario in our event-based production accounting and we would like to understand the WIP behavior.

In Production Accounting, if the production cycle of an order extends beyond one period, the business transactions such as goods issue, activity confirmation, and order status changes might incur cross-period WIP or variance postings.
