Why is depreciation start date not derived from capitalization date

Hello,

We have the following starting point:

  • Depreciation key, straight line, with depreciation to the day
  • Fixed asset created with asset capitalization date (AKTIV) entered manually
  • Acquisition value posted at the asset with transaction type 100

The following occurs when the asset capitalization date is in the previous year, but not on the last day of the fiscal year (31 December), and the asset value date and posting date of the acquisition posting are in the next year (for example 15 January):

  • The ordinary depreciation date is automatically derived from the asset capitalization date when posting the acquisition value at the fixed asset. So, no issue here.

But the following occurs when the asset capitalization date is the last day of the fiscal year (31 December) of the previous year and the asset value date and posting date of the acquisition posting are in the next year (for example 15 January):

  • The ordinary depreciation date is NOT derived from the asset capitalization date when posting the acquisition value at the fixed asset. The ordinary depreciation date remains empty!

Any ideas why the ordinary depreciation date remains empty when the asset capitalization date is 31 December? This only happens with the date of 31 December. When the asset capitalization date is for example 30 December, 12 December or 28 November this issue doesn't occur and the ordinary depreciation start date is derived from the asset capitalization date.

We're on ECC 6.0 EHP0

Thanks, Andre
