Why info record is mandatory for creating consignment,subcontract,pipe. Is any reason apart from vendor and material details?

consignment stock is owned by your vendor until you consume it or transfer it to your own stock.

As there is no link between a consignment stock and the purchase order the price cannot be determined from the purchase order, hence the info record is the only master data from which the withdrawel can get its valuation.

For Consignment, it is because SAP "technically" will not post any price on the Purchase Order. The Consignment Purchase Order is just merely a vendor agreement to procure consignment items in the specified quantity. A consignment is an agreement between a vendor and your company to supply materials at a given quantity with an agreement consignment price. The vendor is paid once these consignment items are being reclassified as unrestricted stock OR issued for consumption (i.e. by production). This triggers the MRKO invoice with the effective price coming from consignment info record.

For Subcon, there is a prod version that is being recognized. This prod version is found in subcon info record. Prod version drives the BOM assignment.

Hi Satyanarayana,

Info Record is mandatory for Consignment and Pipeline process not for mandatory for Subcontracting.

For Consignment, Pipeline process-- pricing calculations and price  will take from info record for settlement thru MRKO transaction.

For Subcontracting -

The Subcontracting Info record is created for the header material only. NOT for the components.

Only for the header material it makes sense to relate to a Production Version because this is what determines the alternative BOM and hereby the components in it

The Subcontracting Info Record must be Plant-specific, in order to be able to relate to the production Version. (The Version field is not visible otherwise!)

When the Subcontracting info record has price conditions then the net price deriving from the conditions is dealing with the labor done by the subcontractor.

It will not be used to update the Material Average Price on the Material Master

The cost price will be found later as the labor + the cost of the components included.

Hi,

Info record is mandatory in case of special procurement process where price will take from consignment info record ONLY in case of consignment process where consignment info record need to active in T.code: OMEV.

The info record allows buyers to quickly determine:

• Which materials have been previously offered or supplied by a specific vendor
• Which vendors have offered or supplied a specific material
