Hello there,
on which basis does SAP chose the given exchange rate? Which source are they using?
Regards,
Dennis
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Dennis,
The exchange rate selection depends on the process you are working with.
Could you please let me know more detail, like App, or scenario?
Best Regards,
Owen

Hi owen.liu
The process is the app Project Control (i think that what it is, we have it in german).
We would like to know where SAP is getting its exchange rate when calculating the project currency (e.g. EUR) and from there the overall currency (e.g. USD). I hope this makes sense.
Best regards
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
For actual postings, system normally use exchange rate type M and posting date.
If it's relevant with Material Ledger, below Note could be reference:

corey.yu Do you have any inputs for this?
Thanks & Best Regards,
Owen
Hi owen.liu ,
thanks for the input. I am especially interested in the source of the exchange rate at the given points (from transaction currency or first local currency; on the posting date, the document date or the value date; exchange rate type use).
Does SAP use the rates of Reuters or a smiliar source?
Regards
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
there are various options that can be used starting with manual maintenace .
For automation please check scope item https://rapid.sap.com/bp/#/browse/scopeitems/1S4 Automatic Market Rates Management
There is a demo video in the product page :
where ECB is used as data source .
Here is the service help page for more info :
