where is additional movement 501M defined?

Our client has copied material type LEIH into a new material type ZLEI.

When they create an outbound delivery without reference with a material of this new type, the system creates two movements: 601 and 501M.

I can see in VOV6 that for the schedule line category the movement 601 is defined, but 501M is not there.

My question is, where or how is the additional movement 501M defined in customizing? How does SAP know he has to execute the additional movement 501M?

Thanks

There is no direct link between material type and movement type. Please let me know in which transaction, 501M movement type is used. Please share the related screen shot. If it is in Delivery, check what item category is there. For that item category, check what schedule line category is assigned.

Thank you for the answers. In the end, there was some custom development that was creating the additional 501M movement.

While 601 is used for sales side, 501M is on the purchase side which relates to Returnable Packaging materials. You can check the Allowed Transactions for 501M in omjj

Yes, I know 501 relates to returnable packaging materials, and I know he transaction OMJJ.

The problem is, since the client is using a Z copy of the material type for the returnable packaging material, how does SAP know he has to execute the 501M movement.
