When creating a production task, the input products are not calculating relative to output product.

Hi,

We are setting up production orders in SAP ByDesign. I have built out the BOM's created a BoO and production model. All works fine, except when I have a production order for output quantity 100 it is not multiplying input quantity to match.

e.g. raw material (steel) is used to make a component, for 1 unit requires 0.033m of steel, you would expect input products to be 100 x 0.033m (3.3m) for the 100 finished products.

What is likely wrong in the production model, BOM or BoO which is causing this not to calculate?

Dear Customer,

In the issue description you didn't mention whether the issue is a) system doesn't propose quantity for input products according to the confirmed quantity in reporting point; b) or, system proposes incorrect quantity for input products.

a) Please check in the production model, under tab Bill of Operations - sub tab Product Assignment, ensure Backflush maintained as the confirmation method for input products.

b) Please open corresponding BoM, under tab Input Products, select By Reference Date for Filter Options, select a date for Reference Date which is the same with the explosion date you find in the Production order which has the issue, in the below check the quantity of input products. If the output product: input product ratio is unexpected for you, then it is very likely you changed the quantity of input products with an ECO valid from a specific date.

Hi Henry, we use explicit method not back flush. However your hypothesis that ECO was valid from a specific date was correct. Thank you
