Dears,
Planned Orders are generated (in APO) at supplying mat x plant. MD04 generated Material Reservations (MtlRes) in ECC for same mat-plant (besides material reservations for components that I am fine with). One is to one. for eternity
Q1: Why are these MtlRes documents created or rather needed for the finished product x supplying plant at the first place?
Q2: Without 'Running' the MRP how were Material reservations created for the finished product and the components? Does opening MD04 'RUN' MRP?
Q3: What purpose does Material Reservations serve at all in larger interest of running supply chain operations? Esp. when these are just against 'dubious' documents like planned orders and stock transfer requisitions?
Q4: What does the Status field M in table RESB mean? (It seems to imply these are manually created reservations but they are NOT)
Q5: What do I need to do disable the creation of material reservations and directly create planned orders from transfer reservation (which is the reason for planned orders at supplying plant) at the Receiving plant?
Additional Info
- Planned order procurement proposal type is LA. Procurement type is E. No special procurement in Mat Master.
- The material reservation req type (BDART) is MR in table RESB. No one created these material reservations or planned orders manually. The planned orders were transferred from APO (SNP). This is a planned order for a finished product that is not an input to any other product.
Thanks
Amit
