Query Browser shows Analytical Queries depending on the Roles assigned to business users? AND that the business user also has Role SAP_BR_EMPLOYEE.
The Analytical Queries have a "View Name", "View Description", and "Application Component".
Roles have "Business Catalogs", "Business Catalog ID"
HOW do you determine how to give a business user access to: "Material Stock at Posting Date"? (application component MM-IM-VDM-SGM)
Looking at HELP.SAP.com for "Material Stock at Posting Date" one would assume that Inventory Manager or Warehouse Clerk generic roles would have what is needed. Would like to give access to view information without giving access to ALL Analytical Queries (and many more applicaitons than needed).
Thank-you,
Tricia

Dear Tricia,
In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, the authorization concept for business users is role-based. This means a certain set of roles needs to be assigned to business users to enable them to complete business tasks in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.
A Business Role contains Business Catalogs, which are the objects responsible for granting authorization in S/4HANA Cloud. A business catalog is a set of applications that usually belong together semantically. SAP delivers predefined business catalogs that can be used as they are or extended by adding custom apps. An app is assigned to a business catalog, which needs to be assigned to a Business Role and to a Business User to provide access to an application.
All available business catalogs and the apps they contain can be displayed in the Business Catalogs app.
To find the Business Catalog for an application you can check Fiori Apps Library or you can also check the IAM Information System app > Set the "main entity" field for "application" > Search for the application that you want to find the Business Catalog.
Query Browser shows Analytical Queries and the application component is the one responsible for the view/query.
In SAP Help Portal you can find the authorizations/prerequisites for the views/queries.
Kind regards.
