I understand it as : Equipment master which is not linked to any material-serial number combination. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks,

Sandeep

Hello Sandeep,

As far as I know,

  • There is nothing like Stand-alone Equipment in SAP terminology.
  • Then this word Stand-alone is such a communicative word that people (communication sender) use it on several occasions to communicate easily to the receivers.
  • Your example is clearly one of those occasions.
  • Other example can be: Equipment with AVLB status (Not installed anywhere)
  • Another can be an Equipment installed under a top Functional location and does not have any hierarchy.

Such can be many interpretations

Sir,

So you are saying it is simply any equipment?

Because there is no such SAP terminology, it is just an interpretation depending on the status of the Equipment. This interpretation could change from place to place. You are calling an equipment as Stand-alone in one situation and I might call it so in another. So there can not be a genralized definition for this simply because of the fact in the 1st line above.

Stand alone equipment is an equipment which function at it's own and doesn't require any other divide to function.

Hello Sandeep,

Where did you hear this terminology from? Is it from some SAP document?
