Coming to your question, there may be a little activities needed to do or a lot of activities may be needed... It can also call for a Project in itself.
I would first start with checking the Open Orders and Deliveries under the Plant that is going to be merged and ask Business on what is planned for these document? Will they be closed or migrated to another Plant..
