Hello Folks,
The scenario is what should be the process flow or transaction done in SAP when Customer buys the products from but we store the inventory in our warehouse but the inventory belongs to them. But its not our inventory anymore.
We cannot use Reserve Invoice because we want that to hit the revenue account the time we ship and invoice them.
Please do needful.
Thanks-
Monika

Create a consignment warehouse and transfer stock there once you deliver book delivery and Invoice from particular warehouse. To get detail reporting like how much stock you have for a particular customer you can use batch or serial number functionality to cater this.

Hi,
do you wants to manage the stock value for customer goods in your books?

Hi Monika,
A lot depends on the degree to which you need to manage the stock once ownership has transferred to the customer. A couple of questions:
If all you have to do, is to store the stock. If you do not need to manage it, nor are you responsible for its value. In that case all you would have to do is to add the address of your warehouse (for this purpose) to the BP master data of the customer. When you sell goods to this customer that are supposed to be stored by you, you just create the delivery to that address.
If you do need to manage the stock and/or are financially responsible for it, then you could look into a third party addon. However, please note that existing commercial addons most likely also assume that you own the stock. That means that you would probably have to have an addon custom made for your purpose. In that case EDI integration could help, but is likely not necessary. An addon would probably work the way I described in my other answer.

Hi Johan,
Yes we are not resposible for those goods any more its customers responsibity. I like your idea of adding our warehouse address as ship to adress but I it sitting in general warehouse. Creating a different warehouse will help to keep a track on whats is actually delivered to customer but physically in our warehouse.
Thanks-
Monika
Hi Monika,
If I understand you correctly, then you mean that the delivered stock is not actually being separated from your own stock?
I would recommend that instead of creating a new warehouse in B1, you create a separate physical section in your warehouse, where you move the delivered goods to from your main stock.
By leaving delivered goods in your own stock, you are automatically taking responsibility for all that stock. For example, if some of the stock gets stolen, who's stock was it, your's or the customer's?

Johan
Hi Monika,
Any inventory in B1 has value, and that value is owned by you, so it is not currently possible to handle this process in B1.
One way you could do this, is to create one or two user defined tables, to store the necessary inventory data, and perhaps use an addon to input that data upon creating a sales delivery.

Johan
