We're undergoing a landscape upgrade to SAP NW 7.5 EHP 8 As part of the upgrade process, the test environment was copied over to the dev environment via system copy. Thus, all the version management data was overwritten.
My question is this - I know that a part of the version management data is stored in table VRS_DISP and VRSD. Do You have any idea on a way to restore this data from a backup. Either a table transport or another method?
This is why, it is normally not recommended to overwite DEV systems. I know lot of projects theese days (because of S/4 upgrades) has this in their scope. But you will loose info!
I know some Companies have build some tools and also there have been a lot of "tricks" during the years.
And note 130906 is a good starting point - but you need to export before overwriting. So if copy already is done, you are basically "to late".
Yeah, which is why we had made a complete copy of the dev environment to a new instance. So, data is not lost, it's just not where it's supposed to be.
