Version completed tick not tick in Version Management does not evoke new RS

In version management that is while making any ammendment in PO if version completed tick is not tick it allows to save PO and also you can carry on further process. But the problem is that if version completed tick is not mark and by making changes in PO (ie increasing the amount of PO) it impact new release strategy then new release strategy does not get evoke. I want an error message in case this tick is not done will making ammendments in PO..

I could not locate any standard message type for the same. Please let me know how can i resolve this problem . Is there any user exit for the same. Or is it bug in SAP. If yes any patch to be applued.

In version management for particular PO doc type (under details)put tick mark against version active and version 0 ok.

Also make Reason as reqiured entry ... leave other fields as optional entry

Then create some reasons like Pirice change , qty change, misc change

Also use release indicator "6" - changeable

Its Standard SAP process as far as I know
