valuated stock in transit for scope item BDN

Currently sell from valuated stock (scope item 5MQ) is available for sell from stock. I asked to activate valuated stock in transit for bought in items (Scope item BDN).  The expert configuration should add sales doc type OR and item category CBAB. I got back this is not possible from SAP. The only difference with regular sell from stock is that an item is bought in for a certain sales order. As soon as the sales order is delivered DAP to a customer with a certain distance we want to keep it valuated stock in transit.  Why is this not possible?

Dear Erwin,

As described in the configuration section of the scope item 5MQ “Sell from Stock with Valuated Stock in Transit”, only the following combinations of sales order / item category types can be currently enabled:

• Sales Order Type: OR - Item Category: TAN
• Sales Order Type: OR - Item Category: CBXN
• Sales Order Type: CBFD - Item Category: CBXN

You could create a feature request for this business requirement, please do so according to the SAP note:2963059 - How to Submit Feature Requests for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Product - SAP ONE Support Launchpad
This will inform our developers as to what additional functionality should be considered for future releases, we would than asses the feature and do the necessary checks to ensure the functional correctness.

Hi, 

We had the same problem and yes there is still no standard solution to the scenario. So we build a work around to convert the BDN process to BJE (Make-to-order) + BD9:

Work around steps as below:

1. Set Strategy group 20 and procurement key F in the material master

2. Scheduling MRP run

3. Trigger Outbund delivery creation from Sales order based on goods receipt of the Purchase order (triggered from BJE)

5MQ setup now works as the item category now is TAN instead of CBAB.
