Using the Employee Central Assignment ID as Personnel Number (PERNR) in S/4HANA Public Cloud

Hi,

We are currently implementing S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (S4C) and Successfactors Employee Central (SF). The automatic replication of employees from SF to S4C is part of this.

We would like to have the personnel number of a Worker in S4C (Work Agreement field Personnel Number) to be the same as the number in SF, the SF Assignment ID / User ID field.

According to note DIGITS this should be possible, because the prerequisites are fulfilled:

* We have not yet activated the employee replication from SF to S4C for any SF and S4 system.

* And we have activated the Assignment ID in SF.

But I wonder if it will remain possible to create Workers also manually after the feature to copy the personnel number from SF is activated. Is this still possible?

The situation in our company is that we have both internal employees and external (contingent) workers.

We are a recruitment and secondment agency for SAP consultants hiring external workers on an individual basis for long-term assignments at customers. So these people are no employees of our company but only workers which we hire and rehire to customers through S4C Professional Services customer projects and purchase orders. They should not be part of Successfactors.

I know that Successfactors also has functionality to define contingent employees but for these people this brings unnecessary additional license costs. We do not need any SF functionality for these people. They only have to enter their working hours in the S4C timesheet weekly.

So the question is, can we activate the assignment ID replication from SF to S4C and still create external workers manually directly in S4C without running into problems?

For the First question,

The Employee Central Assignment Id cannot be equivalent to the Personnel number in S/4HANA. This functionality is not valid from this latest release.

For the second question,

Even if you are creating the Employee via any integration, it will still be possible to create the contingent worker manually via the Manage Workforce application.
