Using Sales Orders as Cost Objects in S/4HANA Public Cloud

Hello SAP Community,

In S/4HANA Public Cloud, can we use a sales order and a sales order item as cost objects in general journal entries to record expenses related to the sales order? I tried to post primary costs by specifying a sales order and a sales order item in general journal entries, but it didn’t work.

We want to manage the profitability of sales orders by including not only the cost of goods sold but also related expenses. In this case, do we need to create projects or WBS elements to record these expenses?

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

I tested in internal system, sales order and line item are valid for journal entries.

See using app FB70 to book revenue

For cost and revenue together, I think only project and wbs can handle.

Thank you for your comment.I understand that FB70 is a function for posting AR/revenue. While it is possible to post revenue to the sales order item using FB70, it seems impossible to post primary costs to the sales order item using FB60. I was testing this, and it seems that by making the cost center a cost object and making the sales order item statistical, something similar can be achieved.
