Using DTW to update the Item Master Data attachment tab

Hi Experts,

Has anyone tried using DTW to update the Attachments Tab on the Item Master Data please? I tried a few things (similar to importing an attachment to an activity) and couldn't get it to work.

I couldn't see that anything to do with the Attachments Tab was exposed in DTW when looking at the mapping fields and also when looking through the options available in the Items Object under Customize Templates - but then I might not be seeing it correctly!

Any ideas or solutions would be great.

Hi Caroline,

AtcEntry is correct for the document, this relates to the AbsEntry in OATC, which then in turn links to AbsEntry in ATC1.

There are a few fields that need to be populated in ATC1:

AbsEntry

Line - To be used if more than 1 Attachment

SrcPath - for the file path

Filename - for the file name

FileExt - for file type - i.e. .pdf

You may be able to configure DTW to import these as a manually created DTW but I suspect that OATC and ATC1 are not open to the Di which will stop it. Coincidently I have been looking at Task Centre to update these but have encountered the same problem

Did you get any offline responses to this excellent question?  I need to attach files to item masters, but cannot find any automated way to do it.  The OITM table now has an AtcEntry field, but I cannot find any mechanism in DTW or in the SDK to update it.

Unfortunately I did not get an answer to this.  I think it should be possible though because of the AtcEntry field, I tried updating via DTW using the same method as updating the attachment tab in an Activity via DTW.  I am still investigating this though and if I find out anything I will update the forum.

I am trying to import the path of attachments for Good Recipients PO.

In the table OPDN exist voice AtcEntry (for connecting an attachment - OATC - to the document), there is no corresponding entry on the DTW fields when I try to import it.

It appears this is a case in which SAP has upgraded functionality in the application itself, but the DI-API interface has not yet been extended.  If the DI-API doesn't have access to the AtcEntry field, then that functionality won't be available through DTW or the SDK.
