Under Dan van Leeuwen's tutorial from the link you provided, in the very first section of "Choose an SAP HANA Database", it said the following:

"This tutorial will provide guidance on setting up an instance of SAP HANA running in the cloud or on-premise so that it can then be connected to using a few of the SAP HANA Client interfaces."

So, these tutorials are applicable for on-premise as well.
