Usage of tables EIKP & EIPO in SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition 1511 FPS02

How is the handling of tables EIKP & EIPO in context of SD transaction data on HANA? I mean in the past by creating a delivery note or invoice the tables EIKP & EIPO were filled with foreign trade data e.g. country of origin maintained in delivery note during our shipping process. In our HANA-System they are empty. Tables like VRBK, LIKP don't have field EXNUM filled. Even the EXNUM field on new table MATDOC is empty although we have export cases in our system.

I know in future the target system should be SAP GTS. But what about now?

I have a similar question. Will data flow to these tables if customer is not decided to go with GTS ? I know there will not be any support or enhancement on these tables in future, but will these table still get updated post conversion ?

None of the foreign trade tables are updated in EIKP and EIPO. The solution is either international trade, GTS or a bespoke development
