Usage of Post Transaction Notifications

Hi All

I have been told by my SAP partner that, I cannot use Pre/Post Transaction Notification to do some customizations which is much needed to perform the basic operations in sap, Please be noted, Its only related to sum of a column and on the bases of sum, I shall generate some formula values which will be updated into UDFs of OITM.

I am using SAP B1 V10.

I just want to know, is there any new guidelines from SAP for the usage of PTN ?.

Thanks for responding me, After reading all the matter and understand, NO, I cannot use PTN in any case.

Than what's the use of it?.

I have been told by some SAP consultants, that you can use it only to update values, not to commit any financial or inventory transactions, which I did.

Dear cliftonpackagingltd,

Generally, those procedures are used for the validation purposes. Also, there are specific user defined tables [No Object & No Object with Auto. Increment] which can be inserted/updated using those procedures.

Officially, you are not allowed to perform direct updates except No Object & No Object with Auto. Increment tables and this will void your SAP support.
