Upgrading from S/4 HANA Simple finance 1503 to S/4 HANA 1709

Hi folks,

I'm trying to an upgrade assessment: we currently have S/4 Simple finance 1503 and are looking to upgrade to S/4 HANA 1709.

Although I have found information for S/4 1511 upgrade to 1709 here, I can't find anything for 1503. My main question is: Can I just jump from 1503 to 1709 or do I have to first go to a version in between (for example 1511 or 1610)?

In other words, is this a cumulative upgrade or do I need to increment?

Hello Esteban,

Wording is very important (sorry to repeat myself). 1503 is only an add-on to an ECC system which brings some SAP S/4HANA features and concept only for Finance.

Hence moving from 1503 to 1709 or 1809 is a system conversion and NOT an upgrade. Upgrade can only be done within SAP S/4HANA "full scope" Family (1511/1610/1709/1809) , but 1503 does not belong to this "family"

Hence you do not find the appropriate guides. try now with "conversion" and you'll find a lot more information

Hi Esteban,

You can upgrade directly from SAP Simple Financials 1503 to S/4HANA 1709. This is validated by the product availability matrix:

Click on "Related Product Versions". In the "Upgrade To" box, you'll see S/4HANA.
