Upgrade/System Conversion - IDOC Segment Versions Changed

Hi,

Post S/4 HANA System Conversion. For various IDOC segments the version is changed to newer one, now the middle ware doesn't want to change the version of segment definition. Eg. E1EDP201, Seg definition is now E1EDP20102 for release 7.53.

1. Is there a standard process for keeping version same during upgrade?

2. What is the best practice in such scenarios?

3. Should we reduce the release? If we reduce the version, newly added field to the segment how will they behave eg, material_long.

4. Compared We20 and WE21, should version be maintained in partner profile or at port settings?

Searched few threads 1. OrderS05 2. Changing IDOC Segment but there is no clear answer on this.

Hi All,

We have done the system upgrade/ conversion to S/4 HANA. we are getting the same issue as mentioned above.

can you help to share step by step details for changing the SAP release version? I have changed the partner profile and port as mentioned above to ERP old version 740 and triggered the outbound delivery from VL02 and i am getting the same IDOC SAP release as 753.

we have not used any middle ware SAP PI for this integration its direct integration between SAP and Legacy.
