Was trying to add INDUSTRYSECTOR for BP (vendor) using BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA...BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE but both returned message INDUSTRYSECTOR is obsolete .
Tried BAPI_INDUSTRYSECTOR_CHANGE but its throwing error "Industry 0001 does not exist for industry system 0000000010" but i can see 0001 0000000010 are mapped .Can some one help

Try using the BAPI 'BAPI_INDUSTRYSECTOR_ADD'. It did the work for me without any hassles.

Hi Mohan
Were you finally able to fix the issue? Because i'm looking at the exact same error message "Industry XXXX does not exist for industry system XXXX" while using BAPI_INDUSTRYSECTOR_CHANGE to change the Industry. Or is there any alternate FM or method to update the Industry sector in the Business Partner

Cross-Application Components > SAP Business Partner > Business Partner > Basic Settings > Field Groupings > Configure Field Attributes for Each Client. There check for BUPA whether this field is available that is where we normally change the settings from display to hide and vice versa

Hi There,
I believe Industry Sector is for Materials not for Business Partners.
Thanks,
