Unable to post 262 mvt type against a workorder

Hi all - I have issued stock to a work order using Mvt type 262 I wish to execute a 262 Mvt type to return stock (and how those costs associated to the work order) but I am getting a deficit of stock error

I did find this note https://me.sap.com/notes/1962261/E that would imply that we should not be doing 262 but rather cancel the material document - but in my client current ECC system they can do a 262 mvt type ref a work order.

Any thoughts please? Should we be able to do 262 to work order?

Hi,

Movement type 262 is supported by API API_MATERIAL_DOCUMENT_SRV since SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2102. You can reverse a reservation in movement type 262 or 262 equivalent.
