Unable to Display Physically Deleted WBS Elements

Dear Support Team,

Certain WBS elements were physically deleted (not just flagged for deletion), and we have noticed that the flagging option (logical deletion) was disabled at the time. As a result, these elements do not appear in the PRPS table.

We are now in a situation where we would like to reuse the same WBS codes that were used by the deleted elements. However, since they were physically deleted, we are unable to retrieve or confirm their previous existence

Looking forward for your help.

Hi Mohamed El Amine AOURAGH.

There is a configuration that determines whether a project version is saved based on the status. WBS elements are stored in table VSPRPS_CN. When a WBS element that already has a "status-dependent version" saved in VSPRPS_CN is deleted, it is only removed from table PRPS, while its version remains in VSPRPS_CN.

If you try to create a new WBS element using the same code, the system attempts to save a status-dependent version for it. However, this causes an error because an entry with that code already exists in VSPRPS_CN.

Refer to SAP Note 529634 - Behavior of status-dependent versions for more details.
