Unable to delete characteristic (CT04)

Dear all,

I hope this is the right place to put my problem ... If not, sorry and please advice me where I have to put my question ...

When I try to delete a characteristic via CT04, I always get the message that the characteristic is still used ?

I checked all possible places, but I don't find anything where the characteristic should be used ...

When I use the where-used , I get a lot of results within "configuration" - "300 - variants" - "plant-specific variant" ... When I double-click on one of those lines, I come into the screen "display characteristic values", but I don't the see the characteristic I want to delete ??

Does this sound familiar to anyone ? If yes, what can I do about this ?

This note is already implemented ... Our release is higher than the mentioned released which means that the code is already in the system !

Hi,

If there no classes assigned to char and you have already implemented this Note 658564 it should allow to delete.

Can you check the variants which might be causing this issue, you need to delete the variants where this class and char was used earlier.

Dear Mallinath,

The moment I get a where-used list, I have approx. 150 lines ... If I have to delete them manually, it will be lots of work (this is just the 1st of 6 characteristics, so I would have around 1000 lines to delete manually) ... That's the reason why I try to find a way of doing it (semi-)automatic ...

Also, if I double-click on one line (variant) I go to that screen but I don't see this variant ...

When checking where used List does you selecting the Variant tables also?

Yes,

At first I selected everything ...

To find out with scope was the one that gives me a return, I selected one by one and so I found that the only scope that returned something was "configuration" ...

Could tell us for what this Char values was defined and for class type it was used earlier..

You 1st need to delete the assigned BMC in CLWN then you will able to delete in CT04

You can check Where Used List in CT04 for your Characteristic , Goto Environment and Hit  where used List.

Here you can find all the class where the Char was assigned , do un-assign the Char from class in CL02.

Now again go back to CT04 and mark for deletion for respective Characteristic.

Note: Once the Char was marked for deletion you cannot use the same in future you can use with other name.

That's the problem : I don't see the characteristic in CL02 ...

I suppose the characteristic has been removed by someone else (and of course no one does know anything) ...
