Transfer of IO Commitment - Error in MIRO reversal

Hi Experts,

I transfered Internal Order Commitments from 2014 to 2015. The Internal Order had Budget ZERO in 2015 (no budget carryfoward was executed).

The system allows me to post MIRO for these purchase orders, but if I need to reverse the MIRO for any reason, the system gives an error saying that the budget was exceeded.

The question is: Is this the correct system behaviour?

Why does the system allows me to post MIRO without budget, but doesn't allow me to reverse through MR8M?

Kind Regards

Hi Mayumi,

The big question is which posting date you have used at the invoice posting (2014 or 2015)?

The possible reason why you don't receive a budget error is that the availability check is only executed if the assigned value is beeing increased. If you have forwarded the commitment to the fiscal year 2015 and execute the invoice posting in 2015, the assigned value is not beeing changed ->  the availability check is not going to be executed in this case (see note 783161). There will be no budget check at the commitment carryforward. If you now reverse the Invoice posting, the commitment is again beeing rebuild. If no budget is available then, the budget error message will be justified.

Hi Ankit,

The MIRO had posting date of 13.01.2015, although the Purchase order delivery date was in 2014.

After doing KOCF for the internal order, the commitment from 2014 was transfered to 2015 and MIRO was posted in January 2015 with no budget error, although the Internal order had budget ZERO in 2015.

That's why I don't understand the error when reversing the MIRO.

I think maybe the budget control was activated at the time the MIRO was posted in 2015.

But I need to confirm this.

kind regards

Hi Mayumi,

If the delivery date is of FY 2014, then system will consume the budget of FY 2014 only. Budget process follow delivery date concept in case of PO. That's why you are able to post MIRO.

For MR8M error, please check reversal date you are giving.

Thanks Ankit.

The reversal date is in 2015.

So please clarify for me:

Transfering commitments through KOCF, allows me to post MIRO in the following year (posting date in 2015 but checking budget in 2014).

But if I dont transfer the budget (manually or KOCO), my available budget for 2015 will be negative, correct?

Kind Regards

Hi Mayumi,

I think in your case, you are doing MIRO with posting date of 2014, that's why system is checking the budget of 2014 and allowing you to post MIRO.

But when you are doing reversal of MIRO, you are giving the reversal date as of year 2015, that's why system is checking the budget of 2015 and giving error.

Please check these points and if error still exist, please share screen shot of MIRO doc and error screen shot at the time of MR8M.
