What is the meaning of the consecutive counter behind the value string? How is the counter determined?

The posting string is needed for the purposes of automatic account determination.
the consucutive counter is determined by the transaction/event key u provide to the system.
in OBYC u can see the different transactions for account determination

yes, I understand that. But when do you need the second, third etc. sequence? How does the system know when to trigger the combination with consecutive counter = 3 instead of consecutive counter = 1?
