to unlock the locked group material data

hi to all,

i was created a material but bcoz of my mistake that material get locked, now i want to unlock that locked material data to make some changes. is there any procedure to unlocke the locked group data?

How material is locked?

There are two ways in material master change (MM02) lock icon is there. If so then you need follow as said above.

Also you can delete the blocked entries by SM12.

Other way while doing posting or any change against that material, due to sudden system log off, that material get blocked by user. In that case go to SM04, and select the blocked previous session and delete it.

SM12 option is fine but its too dangerous, while executing system also propose the massage, i dont know the exact impact of the same.

Lock-relevant fields can subsequently no longer be changed, You can unlock the material at any time before saving it.

If you save a locked material, then this action is irrevocable.

Please check Tcode . SM12... you can see there the locks on SAP Objects and clear them out.
