To run MRP without considering unrestricted stock

Is it possible to run MRP without considering unrestricted stock of the material?

Dear,

Strategy 11 will not work in you case becuse for the Low level BOM item system will consider the Unrestricted stock. Yes you can exclude the stock as per the storage location SPROProduction>MRP>planning>Define Storage Location MRP per Plant

for a given plant and storage loc combination set the MRP indicator as 1.Maintain the material with this storage loc and in MRP 4 make storage loc indicator as 1.

I am not sure about this please try with OPPQ and their for your plant maintain available stock for Unrestricted,Blocked and Stock in transfer. Please remove the tick and try it.

Else you can do this with the BADI 'MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA' in this use method CHANGE_MDPSX to exclued the Unrestricted stock from MRP run. Please check with your technical consultant.

Thanks a lot for your response to this thread.

In fact i tried the option of providing value 1 to exclude the storage location stock from the MRP. But it did not fulfil my requirement.

My requirement is as below:

The business wants to create the material requirement by manual reservations.

Also for this MRP run except this manual reservations all other issue elements, receipt elements and stocks should not get considered.

With checking group configuration i am able to exclude all other issue, receipt and stock elements. But in this settings there is no option to exclude the unrestricted stock.

What happened when i tried giving 1 in MRP 4 view to exclude the storage location stock, the system not only excludes the stock but also it excludes the storage location from MRP run. Meaning...

Plant XXXX

SLOC YYYY

SLOC - YYYY current stock: 100

Manual reservation created (requirement) for SLOC -YYYY : 50

The expectation out of MRP run is, to create procurement proposals for 50 numbers with out considering SLOC - YYYY stock of 100 and not to exclude the SLOC YYYY itself.

Dear ,

Are you considering only Unrestricted stock not to consider for MRP run ??

To address this issue you need to do the following

1.Assing Planning Startegy 11 in MRP3 view with Mixed MRP Indicator -2 .

2.If you do not want to consider Unrestricted , then you can move it this to a special Interim storage location and keep Storage Location MRP indicator as 1-Exclude from MRP or keep the same in OMIR as 1.

If system dont want to consider the unrestricted stock for regular MRP means please assign the planning strategy 11 ( Gross Requirement Planning) if it is not you can exclude from MRP in the combination of material and storage location in T code MMSC or otherwise in MRP 4 view in material master.

You can Go with strategy - 11 ( Gross requirements planning )

This strategy will not consider the stocks in MRP.

If you want this only for one time then

Move the stock to one particular storage location and in t-code OMIR mainatin value as 1 for that storage location

Then system will not consider the stock of that particular storage location

You can , for instance , exclude the Storage Location where the product is stored from MRP. You find this in Customizing

Production >> MRP >> Planning >> Define Storage Location MRP per Plant and select the indicator "1".

Or alternatively, if the product have some strategy (MRP3), you can select "11" , to run Gross requirement Planning.
