To calculate QTD in Group Data Analysis Reports

Hi Experts,

we have a business requirement to calculate QTD values in Group Reporting using Group Data Analysis Report. But unfortunately we don't have QTD as one of the period mode at the time of selecting periodicity like how we select YTD as the period mode during execution of GR reports using GDA Fiori app.

Hence wanted to check if there is any solution that for calculating QTD values using Custom Analytical queries or using SAP AFO for GR reports as enhancing CDS views for achieving the same seems to be complex.

In GR AO Reports / GDA the QTD is not provided as part of the standard solution, however, this can be achieved using the Custom Analytical Queries (SAP Note 2659672), however, the report displays all the QTD columns. You can use Custom Analytical Queries in SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics¹².

One Additional piece of information. If you are on Public Cloud OR OnPrem/Private Cloud Version 2022 there is a new query that is included that can be used by AO to do QTD reports and it comes with Variance columns and various period, QTD and YTD comparisons. But only if you're on 2022 or current Public.

What is the name of this object that comes with various period including QTD ?

HI Jadir,

The new query provided in 2022 is Query Technical name 2CCCNSLDTISFOE and the InfoProvider Technical name is 2CIMCFNDNENHANCUBE. This is the new query that users FSITEMS. There is another one that users Reporting Items but if your doing standard QTD Financial Reports you want the FSITEM based query. The Reporting Item query is the same name but ends in NOE.

The query works a bit differently as you can see in the 2nd screen shot that you have to choose the columns you want to display through the STRUCTURES. But there is a huge list and in includes various MTD, QTD and YTD with comparison options like this QTD vs pervious QTD. Or This QTD vs Prior Year QTD, etc..

This query was created to support the Fiori based reporting tool currently in public Cloud GR called the Financial Statement Review Booklet (FSRB). It didn't get included in Private or On Prem in the 2022 release but is planned on the last roadmap I saw for the 2023 Release Service Pack 1. But even though FSRB didn't make it into 2022 the underly queries did.

Just point AO at the query and away you go. 🙂
