Time Recording Error - Personnel number xxxxxxxx does not exists or you do not have authorization

Hello Community,

when we try to record time for an employee on an internal project we get error message "Personnel number xxx does not exist or you do not have authorization.
Either the system has not found an HR master record for personnel number xxx or you do not have read or maintenance authorization for this personnel number"

We have checked the employee/business user master data and everything seems to be correct. 

Do you have any advice on what may be causing the issue?

Regarding the two employments for the employee, both active... is that employee in concurrent employment?

I think that the best way to analyze the issue is via ticket.

Hello All,

we have found one similar issue where employee is planned for one project and he has posted time sheet and then the same employee is transferred to another company code then project was corrupted and not allowing any changes to project due to employment issue.

we have identified many cases where system is not working correctly or may be there is different behave from system.

make the change without ending project allocation?

make the change at any time during the month? then how cost will be calculated.

What will be the impact on project allocation, planned hours and actual hours of this change?

Once the company code has changed then can the person fill time sheets for the time period when he or she was associated with the old company code?

Can company code changes be done in backdate?

In case employee is transferred to another company where project is same then how cost and revenue will be fetched?

there are many cases but do not remember but how system will work in these scenarios we should have idea.

Hello again,

we found out that our integration with SuccessFactors creates two employeements for the Employee, both with status "Active". Is this something that may cause the issue?

The employee number can't be edited there because it will come from your SuccessFactors integration or from the Employee upload App. If you fill the EmployeeID column in the upload it will show in the field you indicate.
