Time interval for WBS

Hello all, 

Due to some change in the business, we are often asked to change the assigned Profit Center in a WBS. Currently, our only option is to create a new WBS with a new code/number once the WBS is in status "Released". We then need to block the old WBS and rebook all the transactions in the new WBS which is time consuming, tedious and prone to error. 

I would be interested to hear if other people in the community are facing the same problem and if by any chance, you have a suggestion to overcome this problem. 

We thought that if SAP would create a Time interval for WBS as it was done for Cost Centers and Asset master-records that could solve this problem.

Hi Laurent ,

The current behavior is working as expected.

If you are trying to change the profit center for already created WBS element, which is in released state then that is not allowed.

Because when releasing a project, the system locks these fields so that postings can be done containing cost center and/or profit center data.

You can refer to note 2760919 for the details.

Yes, you may create a Customer Influence request.

Seems this is reported to the wrong place.

It's WBS master data.

Do you get the same error as below KBA indicated?
