Dear all,
I am amit..
having 84% and 75% in highschool and intermediate
having 70% in btech mech
having 6 years of automotive experience
having passed certification in PP with 60%
STILL NOT A SINGLE INTERVIEW CALL(only two introductory call from recruiters) for interview after 4 months of certification..very pathetic condition
i have also left my job as i found studying difficult during job and institute said me there are lot of jobs for fresher..but now when i have done it after donating 250000/- rs to them..they even not entertaining my mails and saying to me that you are not patience..
days are passing and no call from anyside
SAP certification in india has no value if considered alone but if done with previous SAP experience then it will be beneficial..
Freshers in sap (even they have certification) will get no jobs..its clear..
You can get job in SAP certification as a fresher when
1. you have jack in a company
2. Your luck is bright
DO SAP certification
1. When you are in that SAP field( i am forcing on SAP word ) in which you are doing certification cuz everyone wil ask you in introductory call that have you worked earlier in SAP After that their technical questions which you have to pass
2.Or you have sure jack..
Its not worth the money..your life will be toooooo hard after this certification..better will be stick to your job and invest this money in MBA or business somewhere..
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Amit,
I can understand how frustrating your situation is:
However, I can give you some suggestions:
1. Be Persistent
2. Do not loose your focus
3. Keep on attending interviews
4. Try to rectify your mistakes in future interviews
5. Read help.sap.com
6. Access service market place
7. Keep visiting SDN
8. Practice the system
9. Try to prepare notes for interview questions
10. Last but, not least, do not loose your hope.
All the best.
Kind Regards,
Ravi

Dear Ravi,
I have gone through all your posts, awesome!!!... lot of motivations!!!... very convincing!!!...
Evan I am in same ship... I have seven years of sap end user experience and I took SAP MM training outside and thinking of doing certification online through one of the SAP authorized institute.
i) How difficult it is ? from online as I got training outside have some idea on subject
ii) How this will push my carrier in SAP world?
I can see your post for both of above questions but still am I taking right decision after seven years of end user experience going for certification?????
Thanks,
Suresh
Dear Suresh,
Whatever the training you are taking, it would never match with the real time experience. During your one or two months training, you would hardly learning some fundamentals about the subject.
The advantage of online training is you would continue on your own pace and do not need to rush. However, at the same time, we may become lethargic and no real motivation around except the motivation within to continue. The best thing is it would be economical. If money is a constraint, please go for online training.
Please note SAP online training would not be a guaranteed passport for a job in SAP world. Therefore, you need to set your expectations right about online training. It cannot do any miracle overnight to your career. There are many other qualities the employers may look into like your education, business process knowledge, domain knowledge, learning attitude, team work, communication and SAP skills etc. Therefore, if you have all the required skills, probably, it would not be impossible (may be difficult) to break into SAP world.
Kind Regards,
Ravi
Hi Ravi,
I was in TCS for 3.8 years, worked on SAP IS-Utility module as an end user in a utility domain. Latter I completed foundation on SAP SD from one of the Kolkata (India) based institute. Almost 6 month gone and I am looking for a job in SAP. All companies are hiring people those who have minimum 3 years of experience on a particular module. People are taking fake experience form those kind of place who are doing business like this. I want to be transparent according to my knowledge always. To avoid such situation I am planning for certification but all of my nearest an dearest one are saying that certification is just waste of money. I never want to add any fake in my CV. Please do let me know what I should do after having around 4 years of SAP end user exp. on IS-U module? Where I completed foundation on SD should I go for certification to get a job?

Hi, If you really want to know the fact then pl. do not go for it. its just another tool under ERP & is nothing a big bang. its been only talked or hyped to extent for business, where certification has no relation to enter in the field infact it makes it more difficult to enter as we start expecting returns of fees paid for certification. all you need to have experience on real time then only you get job or else you simply spend your money on certification which has no returns & get trapped in the circle of SAP certification. all ill say is get experience from market & your in sap. i had spent my money on this certification & been more than a year there is no job. they talk interviews for freshers & recruit only experienced people without certification as well. for fresher they say work for free 6 months then we will pay you about 5-8k/month or they keep extending your free period.

Hi Amit,
I can understand your predicament and i totally agree with you.
Nothing can replace experience for a SAP Freshers, not even a certification. In fact, paying huge amount of money for SAP Training & Certification is a huge wastage of time also in my opinion.
Nothing can replace live project experience. Those wanting to get into SAP must have their game plan ready before they dive into it.
Ideally, look for companies which can train and also give your requisite project experience. That is the best way of getting an entry into this industry in my view.
While i hope that by now you would have achieved some success, do let me know if you need any assistance in terms of guidance.
Regards
Mahesh

To answer your questions,
As I enrolled with SAP Education partner for the training and certification, I received the SAP authored and published books. These books are divided based on each week's training goals and concentrate completely on the clear understanding than just clearing exams.
I happened to ask institute as well as the trainer if they can share some dummy questions/ mock test papers, but all of them replied that questions will be based only and only on the books. All I am supposed to do is study religiously, which I did not but yes, I gave the best of mine.
I would like to note here the method of examination held by SAP because it may shed a light on some false claims of portals/institutes/organizations/individuals about providing SAP "so called" certification dumps.
Exam is held in presence of a proctor who is an SAP employee. He/She carries out a thorough check of attendees identity. The questions that appear on your screen are fetched nearest SAP exam server (I am from India so in my case the nearest servers belonged to Singapore). This server has bank of 1000+ questions related to a module and are fetched into the examination session created by you at random, so there's no guessing as to which question you'll really face. Sounds too dramatic, I know, but yes, that's how it is.
Now to answer your second question.....
The biggest help I could take from SCN at that moment was regarding, how to tackle the whole issue of coping with examination stress. I belong to modest means, so a lot of money was at stake for me. There are already very well written documents on SCN about do's and dont's on making it though training and certifications. I'll not go into that one because, It's altogether a different ball game and people with more than 3-4 certification have shared their experience (mine's just one) which I think is more elaborate and well... experienced.
In case you are looking forward to a certification, do let me know if anything further needs to answered. I'll be glad and willing.

Dear Ameya Bobhate,
I am EP consultant .
I want to go for certification directly.
should i only read that topic mentioned under topics or i have to read all the books like ADM800 , SAP
TEC , EP 200.
you can share your opinion on my personal email also. .
I am unable to find your email id .
please take a email id from my profile.
Please suggest.
Dear Ameya Bobhate,
Thanks for your reply.
I can only send personal message after you follow me.
But still I am little bit confused that should i read only topics that mentioned under certification detail or I needs to read whole book like adm800 ,SAP TEC and SAP EP & EP200.
Please suggest.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks & Regards,
Meghal Shah
Hello Meghal,
I would suggest you to read the whole book, and religiously at that. The questions that appear in examination test your thorough understanding of theoretical concepts and its practical use. So when you are answering, even a slight doubt in mind creates unwanted confusion and amounts to pressure. Be thorough and be sure.

Ameya Bobhate
Hello Ameya.
Iam Ashiq.Just finished my B.tech IT.Iam interested in doing SAP.When i asked in SAP certified institute they suggested me to do SAP ABAP.is this worth to do? Actually Iam bit weak in programming unless its c and c++.I Thought of doing SAP functional modules..can you suggest me.?
Hello Ashiq,
Regards, if you are thinking of doing SAP certification, then ABAP is good for you as you can get placement even if you are fresher but you are planing to do functional module it will be hard to find opportunity as for functional module you must have 3-5 years of domain knowledge.
ABAP is not that tought if you know any OOP Language.
Hope this helps you .
Thanks,
Vikash

Hello All,
Since the thread is not closed, I thought, I may share my experience.
After an year of experience, primarily on ABAP stack, I completed my certification for Basis on SAP NW 7.31 with things in mind like.... Java stack, Oracle exposure (Worked on DB2 at earlier Org.) and a much needed recognition from SAP.
After my cert, I hunted like a hungry Hyena and secured a job in a month. But, after starting again, I realized that in India around 90% of resumes floating around in my domain are FAKE.
I am not sure how people crack interviews with such fake profiles, while I have been grilled for not less than an hour and a half in every interview that I appeared. Which sorta made sure that whatever I mentioned in my resume is true.
Can anyone shed a light on HOW to really go on with a career when everyone seems to take a short-cut and make you look stupid coz you can't lie.
Pardon the words, but I am really dis-oriented. I'll appreciate the inputs.
Thank you and Regards,
Ameya Bobhate

Hi Ameya,
Would you suggest pursue SAP MM certification? I am an engineer working on SAP MM as End user since last 3.5 years in the Automotive/Engineering sectors. I have a total experience of 6 years in ITeS avenues and I wish to work on SAP development/customization/configuration/implementation in future.
What will be the best advice if I want to enter SAP development/customization areas?
Is it advisable to pursue other than MM certifications like ABAP/Basis/BPC/CRM?
Thank in advance for your answers..
Kind Regards
Hi,
I did my SAP Certification in SD with 1.6 years of experience in Sales and I am facing the same problem as you. I will also advice all the people who donot have prior SAP experience, that do not do SAP certification until u have an assured job.
