The settlement rule receiver : Issue with S/4 HANA EAM WOs

Hi Experts,

Requirement: The settlement rule receiver should be selected based on the Account Assignment maintained in the Technical Object. For example, if a Cost Center (CTR) is maintained, then upon releasing the Work Order (WO), the system should designate the Cost Center as the receiver. Similarly, if a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is maintained, then upon releasing the WO, the system should designate the WBS as the receiver.

Changes Which I have performed in SPRO as In Settlement profile

  1. Valid receivers: CC: Settlement Optional and WBS Element: Settlement Optional
  2. Default Object Type in Default Values: Kept as Blank ( I tried this with CTR as well but no luck)

While trying to release WO one with CTR maintained in account Assignment of Technical Object and one with WBS maintained in account Assignment of Technical Object, Order is rejected to release since Settlement rule is not maintained.

Expectation is:

  • If the order type is linked to a Cost Center, the system will prefer the Cost Center as the receiver.
  • If the order type is linked to a WBS Element, the system will prefer the WBS Element as the receiver.

Am I missing anything here?

Greetings,

if you want to pull a settlement receiver from you technical object you need to maintain the default object type setting.

If your requirement is to have one default settlement object type per order type then this can be achieved by standard. If you order type can have a mix of default settlement object type (depending on what's maintained on reference technical object master data) then you might need to explore some user exits which would be triggered at settlement rule creation on specific order.

@memem : Thanks for your post and really appreciated talking time out and responding during holiday season. I was trying to avoid any enhancement (user exit etc..) and achieve this via Standard configuration. Seems no option. Thanks again. - Riyaj
