Test Tenant does not Exist in Export Customizing Transports App

Dear Experts,

We already have our Test Tenant, and right now we are trying to export from Development/Customizing tenant to Test Tenant. We have two questions :

1. We learned that test tenant will not have own CBC, so CBC only for Development/Customizing tenant. Is it right ?

2. When we want to choose the target, out test tenant are not available. Is it standard behavior? or we have some miss steps?

Thank You!Screenshot 2024-12-20 102637.png

Hello Ariel,

Are you on 3SL or 2SL? If it is a new project, i assume you have 3SL (3-system landscape).

If so, the tenants (clients) are:

  • DEV: 100 for Customizing, 80 for Abap steampunk development
  • TEST: 100
  • PROD: 100

You always have just 1 CBC instance, this is linked primarily to the DEV 100 tenant.

The deployment target from CBC is the DEV 100 tenant (customizing tenant). CBC will send high level configuration there (like primary financial settings, scope items, org structure).

When this step is done, all further customizing can be done directly on DEV 100 (App "Implementation Activities" you do not need to go through CBC for most settings)

And the on DEV 100 with App "Export Customizing Transports" you release them and transport them to the TEST 100 tenant. Do not forget to export/import the SW_Collections as well (Extensibility items).

Regards,

Johannes

Hi @Johnny_B_! Thankyou for the response! Noted, we are on 3SL. We still trying to figure out the picture on first thread. Do we have to fill the target to test tenant? or just export it from Development and then import it on Test Tenant? Because right now the test tenant not showing on the target just like the picture up there. Thankyou!
