Hi All - We are trying to post via API (J58) and are passing tax code and tax jurisdiction code in the API, we are getting the error message "taxed by item is activated; consequently, transfer by item is mandatory".
We have checked the GL account settings, tax codes and everything seems to be looking fine, we are also able to post via manually but not thru the API.
Any advise would be welcome.

Dear Amrish,
If the company codes associated to US, field TaxItemGroup needs to be filled under node Item in the used Payload file.
TaxItemGroup is only used for taxes in the USA and only necessary when multiple tax items exist with an identical tax code and tax jurisdiction.
Please check the following SAP Help Documentation in reference to this:
You can find more information and Payload examples in the following SAP Blog Post about Journal Entry Post API:
https://blogs.sap.com/2019/09/06/guidelines-for-api-journal-entry-post/
I hope it helps you further.
