T-REX also for HR-PA (because of talent management)?

Dear colleagues,

we faced following problem during the implementation:

for efficient job description in SAP e-Recruiting as well as for other purposes like authorizations and user accounts management in Active Directory we need to activate the transaction HRTMC_PPOM in function HCM_TCM_CI_1. As we realized that requires activation of the whole talent management functionality and prerequisites ERP_ENTERPRISESEARCH business function. In documentation (note 1273780) there is requirement of TREX what is the specialized text retrieval system not present in our environment.

Our partner is advising that in his opinion the activation can be done without TREX. Can somebody assure that it will be save to activate HCM_TMC_CI_1 without TREX installed?

We run on SAP ECC EHP5 where the central employees database have to be deployed and where we like to activate the function.

Our SAP eRecruitment will be stand alone - there will be TREX installed as the standard equipment.

Hi Waldemar,

You don't need TREX installed to activate HCM_TCM_CI_1. Additionally, you don't need to activate HCM_TCM_CI_1 for e-Recruiting or to use TREX with e-Recruiting.

Hi Luke,

as we already tested that HCM_TCM_CI_1 should work without TREX - thank you however for advice.We needed HCM_TCM_CI_1 to built and use the job architecture what is part of talent management.

Also in the package to be implemented/activated on the ERECRUIT stand alone we do not have HCM_TCM_CI_1.

Looking on this I wonder that if we have this already on ERP this BF why we do not need this on ERECRUIT to have the structures the same in both cooperating components?

I'm not sure that you do need HCM_TCM_CI_1 activated in your ERECRUIT instance.
