Substitute manager not able to approve employee’s requests

Hello All

We are into EHP6 and using HR Renewal Substitution for approval process, managers are able to substitute users on task level. We have also tested the employee’s requests are going the substitute managers, when substitute manager trying to approve employee’s work item, blank task are displaying. We have given all automation on structural profile level too.

Example:

We have substitute a Manager  for Employee time approval, When employee submits working time, substituted manager receives work item to His/ HerUWL. When substituted manager selects workitem for approval, working time is not displaying.

Please suggest us, what need to be changed or any parameter need to be activated?

Can u post us the Error Screen shots. Just to make sure it once again,, did u configure UME with People picker. where it selects the people & from XML the tasks moves to the particular UWL of the selected manager. As addressed check the Visualization Parameters also.

We have tested with direct manager with out substitution, for Time recording and Leave request, Direct manager able to approve employee timesheet and leave request.

Again we have activated substitution at manager to manager , substituted manager able to approve employee leave request but not not time sheet

Is there any settings need be activated? manager is having  CATS_APPR_PERSPCTIVE, CATS_APPR_PROF parameters

Have you created a separate substitution profile and assigned to the cats approval task task?

You need to do maintain the following steps under SAP Netweaver-->Application server-->Business Management-->SAP Business Workflow--> Basic Settings

1) Substitute profile-->Define Substitute profile

2) Basic Settings--> Maintain Task Classes (here u need to maintain tasks for each process, eg: Leave request, Time recording, Travel Request etc)

3)Substitute Profile-->Assign Substitute profile

after maintaining configuration in these nodes, goto workflow tasks PFTC and change the workflow to general task & assign the type of classification to which the workflow is made for,

Thanks for your mail , I have not created separatesubstitution profile as we are in HR Renewal, do I need to create separate profile? If yes, could you let me know the Parameter id for assigning Substitute profile

Its required to create substitution rules and assign the same to approval task.

Follow the steps which Pradyp has suggested.

Yes, Its required, as its the process where system bifurcates the type of classes which were created in Maintain Task Classes as they are assigned in workflow tasks(Leave,Time,Travel).

WD application IBO_WDA_WFL_SUBSTIT POWL(POWL_UI_COMP) is a frame work deals with only non workflow taks. POWL Inbox(IBO_WDC_INBOX) is an application of POWL which deals with onl y with workflow tasks. The WD application IBO_WDA_WFL_SUBSTIT not used inside POWL, but it is an integral part of Inbox(IBO_WDA_INBOX WD application). When you use an application like HRESS_A_PTARQ_LEAVREQ_APPL which is pur ely a POWL application and does not deal with IBO_WDA_WFL_SUBSTIT, so workflow based tasks cannot be processed. If you want workflow based tasks to be processed, then you will have to use POWL Inbox(IBO_WDC_INBOX) application- IBO_WDA_INBOX and you will ne ed to configure this POWL inbox as explained under: 'Configure Workflow tasks for POWL Inbox' in http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-31014 to read the workflow based tasks.

Hi,

Check Visualization parameters are maintained for the particular task. Also check whether it is working with the direct manager with out substitution.
