I am currently working in the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Asset Management at a customer. One of the requests was to be able to create a sub-order for a maintenance order > the main maintenance order cannot be closed if the sub-order is not closed first. The thing is that we only have follow-on orders in this environment > there is no real relationship between the two orders, I can close the main or sub-order without any verification of the upper-lower level.
The sub-order is something very common and used in SAP PM but seems not to be integrated in the Cloud version.
Is there a way to create sub-orders in the Cloud version? Or should I use sub-operations? Even if I use sub-operations, I can close the MAIN operation whenever I want. Maybe I can play with user status and prevent and order from being TECO if the status is still in PCNF...
