Stock Removal Strategy Configuration for Handling Units with Same Expiration and Goods Receipt Dates

Hello SAP EWM experts,

I’m currently working with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) version 9.5, and I’m configuring stock removal strategies for selected storage types. While I’ve successfully set up the batch number-based First Expiry First Out (FEFO) strategy and the Goods Receipt (GR) date-based strategy, I’m facing challenges with the third requirement.

Business Requirement:

  1. The system should determine the stock removal strategy based on the earliest expiration date first.
  2. If there’s no expiration date available, the system should follow the oldest Goods Receipt Date.
  3. When multiple handling units (HUs) in a storage bin have the same expiration date and same GR date, the system should allow the material handler to pick the HU that is first presented or has the most recent GR date/time.

Current Configuration:

  • FEFO and GR date-based strategies are working as expected.
  • However, I’m struggling to find the right configuration to address the third requirement.

Questions:

  1. How can I configure the system to handle the scenario where HUs have identical expiration and GR dates?
  2. Is there a specific stock removal rule or sort field that I should use to achieve this behavior?
  3. Are there any additional settings or considerations I need to be aware of?

Any insights, documentation references, or step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
